What Is a Football CV?

A football CV is a one or two-page document that gives coaches a quick overview of who you are, what level you play at, your academic standing and how to contact you. It works alongside your highlight video — the video shows what you can do, and the CV gives the context.

What to Include

Personal Details

• Full name
• Date of birth
• Height and weight
• Position (primary and secondary)
• Nationality
• Email address and phone number

Playing History

• Current club and level
• Previous clubs (most recent first)
• Years at each club
• Any honours, titles or representative selections
• Playing statistics where relevant (appearances, goals — only if accurate)

Academic Information

• Current school or college
• Qualifications (GCSEs, A-Levels, BTECs — with subjects and grades)
• Predicted grades if still studying
• Graduation year
• SAT/ACT scores if taken

Physical Stats

Only include physical stats if they have been accurately measured. Do not guess. If you include them:

• Sprint times (e.g. 40m or 30m)
• Endurance (e.g. beep test level or Yo-Yo test)
• Vertical jump

References

• Current coach — name, role, club, email and phone
• Previous coach or manager (optional)
• Academic reference (optional but helpful)

Highlight Video Link
